Northwest New Mexico bursts with culture! It is home to the Navajo Nation and the Jicarilla Apache Nation. San Juan County lies within 100 miles of most of the Southwest’s finest Native American artists and craftsmen. Trading posts that display the works of Indian artists are numerous, with many being run by 4th and 5th generation traders. Farmington hosts a summer open-air theater each year in a beautiful natural sandstone amphitheater. A regional symphony, rug auctions, art shows, art walks, museums, and wineries/breweries all add color and culture to life in northwestern New Mexico.
